What Are Wisdom Teeth?
Wisdom teeth (third molars) are the last teeth to develop, usually appearing between ages 17–21. Most people have four wisdom teeth.
Because our jaws are generally smaller than those of our ancestors, wisdom teeth often do not have enough room to come through properly. This lack of space can lead to:
